The pride of Hawthorne Stud is the stallion, Hawthorne Rush. Hawthorne Rush has proven his versatility in many disciplines from ASH Futurities show classes, 12 goal polo and the campdraft arena. His kind nature has allowed Hawthorne Rush to come out of the paddock after 6 years to compete at the 2013 ASH Nationals in campdrafting and scoring 7 in the Novice Draft.
The kind nature and athletic ability strongly shows through in all of Hawthorne Rush’s progeny allowing all family members to ride and compete in their desired disciplines.

Hawthorne Rush’s Dam, Hunter View Trigger was an exceptional polocrosse mare purchased by Simon Brennan as a five year old, from well known stockhorse breeder Barry Law. Trigger went onto play for Queensland. Progeny by Hunter View Trigger include:
- Rosebrook Solomio, owned and played by Les & Warwick Fraser of Warwick. Winner of QLD Men’s ASH Rookie Polocrosse Horse in 1998
- Hawthorne Maverick, now playing Polocrosse in Victoria. Won the QLD Men’s ASH Rookie Polocrosse Horse in 2005
- Hawthorne Eldorado, who won the QLD Men’s ASH Rookie Polocrosse Horse in 2007
Hawthorne Rush’s Sire, Haydon Rush bloods back to the most sucessful ASH stallion, Rodeo Rush. Haydon Rush, by Rodeo Rush, played high goal Polo & produced many Polo, Polocrosse & Eventing horses. Progeny by Haydon Rush include:
- Roseneath Mikasa, owned by Paul & Sally McGrath of Warwick. This horse won the Fraser Trophy for Champion Horse at the 2003 Queensland State Polocrosse Championships, as well as the Best Men’s ASH at the Queensland Polocrosse Zone Titles and New South Wales Polocrosse Zone Titles.
- Durham Smokey (Benson), won the Fraser Trophy in 1999 ridden by Paul McGrath, and has played for Queensland
- Durham Squire played Polocrosse for Queensland & was played by NZ in 2003 & Canada in the 2007 Polocrosse World Cup.
